Nexton just got smarter: Nexton Middle School has broken ground
Did you know five-year-olds ask an average of 92 questions per day? Luckily, teachers at Nexton Elementary School are well equipped to answer all 92…and then some. Soon, those kiddos will be full blown pre-teens and teens. And they won’t have to travel far to get the same beyond-ordinary level of question-answering they’ve enjoyed K-5. Nexton Middle School has officially broken ground!
On December 12, Berkeley County School Board gathered with Superintendent Dixon and special guests to memorialize the event. Attendees were treated to a holiday performance from the Nexton Elementary choir and a hot cocoa bar provided by Brookfield Properties to keep hands and hearts warm and toasty.
In fact, those third grade songbirds will be amongst the first to walk through the new Middle School’s doors in 2026. The school will cater to grades 6-8 and be located in Nexton’s Midtown neighborhood along Nexton Parkway. Perched on 35 acres, the school will carry on the district's exceptional track-record for academics, extracurriculars (hello, nationally-ranked robotics club!), and a never-stop-learning state of mind.
Thank you to Berkeley County school district for bringing another exceptional school to Nexton.
