Meet the Neighbors: The Simmons Family
If you're considering a move to Del Webb Nexton, you probably have a lot of questions - about our builders, about our amenities, about our great schools, and perhaps about the people who actually call our bustling community home. Who better to tell potential residents about life here than the folks who can speak first hand?
Meet the Simmons family. These Lowcountry locals call Del Webb Nexton home, and just might know the new active adult community better than we do! As Del Webb ambassadors, they introduce potential neighbors to all the community - and Summerville - has to offer. Below, a little more about this couple and what brought them to Del Webb Nexton.
Tell us a little about yourselves!
We both grew in the area and attended Lowcountry schools from kindergarten through high school. We are both graduates of the University of South Carolina. We have two grown children who are both married and one granddaughter. Susie retired from Santee Cooper last year and Randall still teaches at Stratford High School.
What made you decide on Del Webb Nexton?
The location, amenities, and services offered. The whole Nexton development is appealing to us and we are looking forward to Hall’s and Taco Boy.
What feature of your home makes you most happy? We love the one-story open floor plan and the view of the lake from the back of our home.
What Del Webb Nexton event has been most memorable so far? The Cinco De Mayo/Kentucky Derby party was a blast! Kelsi Gannon (HOA) does a great job of planning events for us.
What Del Webb/Nexton event are you most looking forward to? The grand opening of our amenity center next summer.
Tell us more about your role as a Del Webb ambassador. We greet potential buyers and normally take them to dinner. In addition we discuss the great features of Del Webb and the whole Nexton development.
What’s the Explore Del Webb program? The program allows potential buyers to stay overnight on the property, tour homes, meet residents, participate in events and enjoy the active lifestyle of Del Webb.
Favorite Summerville restaurant? Five Loaves. The food and service is always good, and they have a great gluten free menu.
What is your favorite thing to do around town? We love to go boating, especially in the evening when the sun is setting over the Charleston Harbor.
A fun fact about the Simmons Family: We like to attend concerts, especially country artists and artists from the 70’s and 80’s. We are going to see Rod Stewart and Cindi Lauper later this year and already have tickets for Elton John next year.
Thanks, Simmons family! We're lucky to have you as part of the Nexton family.
