A November to Remember
November was a busy and exciting month for Nexton. Significant milestones were hit all across the board, and development is moving at an impressive pace!
Nexton Elementary hits major milestone
On Wednesday, November 19th, Nexton Elementary celebrated the school's "topping out," a milestone that marks the completion of the steel erection phase of building. The close collaboration of Berkeley County School District, Contract Construction, Inc., and architectural firm LS3P has kept the building on track, despite challenging, rainy weather through most of late summer. The team is building an exceptional school, both architecturally and technologically.
Set to open for the fall 2015 school year, Nexton Elementary will ultimately accommodate 900 students. It's the centerpiece for our inaugural residential village - Brighton Park - and we are so excited to share the progress. Don't miss the photos above!
SCRA celebrates opening of Nexton facility
SCRA held the official dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony for their Applied Technology Center on November 20th. The 78,000-square foot facility was designed by LS3P Associates and built by Choate Construction. SCRA will occupy two floors of the facility and lease space on the third.
